IFD Annual Luncheon - 6 March 2008 - Address by the Hon Robert McClelland MP, Attorney-General
The IFD Annual Luncheon was held on 6th March 2008 in the Heritage Ballroom, Westin Hotel, Martin Place, Sydney.
This is IFD’s premier function of the year, with 160 industry representatives and guests in attendance.
Our guest speaker was the Attorney-General, the Hon. Robert McClelland MP. The Attorney reaffirmed the Government's priority to reform personal property securiteis law in Australia, a development of significant importance to IFD members. The Attorney's speech is available below in .pdf format.
The IFD Chairman also reviewed the range of IFD issues, and outlined the IFD’s activities going forward.
The presentation to the ‘IFD Student of the Year’ was also made at this function.
IFD Student Award
As part of the Industry Training Program, each year IFD selects the outstanding student competing the ‘Factoring and Discounting in Australia' course as the IFD Student of the Year.
This selection is based on both course work and assessment tasks. This prestigious award is made at the IFD's Annual Luncheon, which is attended by leaders of the factoring and discounting industry in Australia.
The inaugural presentation was in 2005, and the IFD Student of the Year was Ms Lucy Alderwick and in 2006 it was Mr Daniel La Cognata.
The Student of the Year for 2007 is Mr Tim Kearsey. Two other students were recognised for their outstanding achievement, Ms Renae Sargasson and Mr Dan Hutchison.
